The Winkler Welcomes You program operates through the Winkler Chamber of Commerce office. It has been in operation since 1993. Hundreds of people have received a friendly visit as either a Newcomer, Newlywed or 1st Baby. To participate in this program, a business must be a Chamber member. It costs $1.00 for every visit that is made on their behalf (this includes a coupon that is available to be used). Businesses can choose to be involved in 1, 2 or all 3 of the categories and are free to use their own coupons and can also include a gift in the package if they so choose.
