Aquatic Centre The Winkler Park hosts the Winkler Aquatic Centre featuring three water slides ranging from 30' to 165', a pool depth of 0' to 12' 6", 8000 sq.ft of water surface and an additional 16,000 sq.ft. of deck area.
Other features include vending machines, two hot tubs, a tot pool, diving boards, massage sprayers and four family change rooms with in-floor heating.
Winkler Parks and Recreation also has many other great recreational facilities and activities for your enjoyment. They include: Community Hall, Outdoor Stage and Concession Building, Walking and Cycling Paths, Soccer/Football Field, Tennis Courts, Horseshoe Pits, Playground, Outdoor Basketball Court, Recreation Complex with artificial ice, Picnic Tables and Eating Areas, beautifully treed Campground and a five sheet Curling Rink. Golf Course The Winkler Golf Course is an 18 hole public golf course (5,760 meters), with grass greens and watered fairways. Women's par is 72 and Men's par is 71. The course features an on-site air conditioned, licensed clubhouse, a restaurant and a pro shop. Golf Cart rentals are available. The Golf Course is located at 400 15th Street. Winkler Parkland Winkler Parkland is a recreation facility covering several acres within the city. The Parkland reaches from 15th St. on the western part of Winkler, south along Grandeur Ave. and east on Park St. The area includes the Winkler Park, Winkler Aquatic Centre, Winkler Arena and Curling Club plus the grounds which each year host the Harvest Festival. You will also find tennis courts, an outdoor basketball court, soccer pitches, softball and baseball diamonds, outdoor hockey arena and campground.
Lion's Park and Kinsmen Park
Together these parks offer a softball diamond, mini soccer pitches, playground, picnic shelter and 2 tennis courts. The Lion's Park is located on Linden Dr. and the Kinsmen is on Royal Cres.
Other Parks
Prairie Green, off Greensfield Rd. and has a playground and is a memorial to the original settlers of the Winkler area. Veteran's Park is behind the Civic Centre with a Cairn dedicated to the memory of residents who fought in the World War I and II. A Jewish Memorial in memory of the Jewish settlers that were part of Winkler's early history is located at the corner of Pembina and Main St. |
